Ingredients for making Paneer Gulab Jamun
Maida - 1 cup
Grated paneer - 1/2 cup
A pinch of baking powder
Almonds for garnishing
Sugar - 2 cups
Water - 4 cups
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp.
Oil for deep frying.
Method for making Paneer Gulab Jamun
1. Mix the maida, grated paneer, baking powder together in a large bowl, add little water and knead to a smooth and soft dough.
2. Allow this to stand for about 10 - 15 minutes.
3. Now make small balls out of the dough and deep fry till golden brown in oil. Always cook in a medium flame.
4. Meanwhile for the sugar syrup, boil the sugar, water and cardamom powder in a heavy bottomed sauce pan, and stir continuously till it becomes sticky of one string consistency.
5. Add the fried jamuns to the hot sugar syrup and soak this for 2 to 4 hours.
Garnish this with chopped almonds. Now the paneer Gulab Jamuns are ready to be served.
