Bael Murabba is a unique preserve made with the most amazing fruit - Wood apple. Bael is called by many names - Bengal quince, golden apple and elephant apple. It is a friendly fruit to all age groups with high nutritional benefits. This specific jam recipe is packed with the goodness of wood apple along with cardamom seeds, kewda and sugar.

Bael Murabba can be preserved in an airtight glass container even up to months. Relish it as a wholesome dish or you can even enjoy it along with any meal of your choice.

HOW TO MAKE BAEL (WOOD APPLE) MURABBA:

  1. Peel and cut the fruit into small pieces.
  2. Discard the pips and immerse in water for 4 hours.
  3. Drain out the water and dry for 2 hours.
  4. Put 1 cup water in sugar and prepare a syrup. Put over a slow fire till the fruit turns brown. Remove from fire.
  5. Cool and put in essence, cover the pieces of fruit with foil and put in an airtight bottle.

INGREDIENTS



  • 2 big raw Bael fruits (wood apple)
  • 200 gms. Sugar

  • Silver foil
  • A few drops. essence of kewda
  • 1 tsp. Cardamom seeds
