This recipe has been in my mind for quite a long time..It is also called as Gothumai Halwa, Wheat Flour Halwa also..This recipe is a basic recipe and it turns out just perfect. I have another version of halwa which is made with whole wheat. Will be sharing it soon.

This is one recipe which i wanted to make for a long time..This is such a easy recipe to make, and i know it will taste great.. I thought this would be a great recipe to share now as it is navrathri season..

Hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
Serves: 6 to 8

Ingredients:

Wheat Flour / Atta - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Ghee - 1/2 cup + 4 tblspn
Raisans as needed
Cashews as needed

Method:

Heat 1/2 cup ghee in a kadai. Add in nuts and raisan and fry till golden. Drain and set aside.

In the same pan, add in wheat flour and roast on low flame for a good 5 to 6 mins till the raw smell leaves away.

Now add in water and keep mixing.

Now add in sugar and mix well. Cook this by keep stiring it.
After 5 mins or so, if you see the halwa sticky, add ghee tblspn at a time and keep mixing. I added around 4 tblspn more ghee to make it glossy and non sticky.

Now add in cardamom powder and fried nuts. Mix well and serve.
