Recipe Ingredients
- 3 cups split bengal gram
- 2 tsp green chillies
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Fruit salt
- For Tempering:
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp green chili slices
- A pinch of Asafoetida
- 2 tsp curry leaves
- 1 tbsp dry coconut powder
Recipe Preparation
- Soak the split bengal gram in sufficient water overnight.
- In the morning, in a mixer jar, add the soaked split bengal gram, green chillies, salt, sugar and 2 to 3 tbsp water and make thick paste.
- Add turmeric powder, fruit salt and 1 tsp water in it and mix it well again.
- Pour the batter into oil greased plate of steamer and steam it for 10 minutes. Allow it to come down to room temperature.
- In a frying pan, add 2 tsp of oil, mustard seeds and once it tempered, add asafoetida, curry leaves. Sprinkle on the dhokla.
- Cut into pieces and sprinkle some water on it.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and coconut powder and serve it with dates chutney.
