- A hearty rice preparation cooked using rice, aromatic spices and the tang of tomatoes.
Ingredients
- 7 tomatoes
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 green chillies
- 1 onion
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp jeera
- 1 tsp heeng
- 1 tsp peppercorns
- 500 gms soaked Rice
Method
- Soak rice.
- Heat oil in a pan, add jeera, peppercorns, heeng, chopped onion, garlic & green chillies.
- Let it brown.
- Now, add tomatoes & cook it till it wilts.
- Add soaked rice & water.
- Close lid once water has reduced & it just covers the rice.
- Let it cook on low flame.
- Serve hot, garnished with mint leaves.
