Tomato Pulao (My Yellow Table)

  • TIME: 25 Minutes + Soaking Time (40 Minutes)
  • Serves:02
  • A hearty rice preparation cooked using rice, aromatic spices and the tang of tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 7 tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp heeng
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 500 gms soaked Rice

Method

  1. Soak rice.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add jeera,  peppercorns, heeng, chopped onion, garlic & green chillies.
  3. Let it brown.
  4. Now, add tomatoes & cook it till it wilts.
  5. Add soaked rice & water.
  6. Close lid once water has reduced & it just covers the rice.
  7. Let it cook on low flame.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with mint leaves.
